OBKA Woodstock Apiary Spring Cleaning
April 28 @ 11:00 - 15:00
Members are reminded that the OBKA Teaching Apiary Clean Up Day is scheduled for 28 April. The high-light of the day will be watching one of our local bee inspectors checking the teaching apiary hives for disease. It is a good opportunity to learn from an expert how to do a disease inspection.
There will also be a presentation from Bee.Watch during lunch of their system for sharing information about pesticide use and swarm harvesting. Oxford City Council have already signed up with Bee.Watch.
If you would like to be involved in a live demonstration of the swarm system on the day, please download the Bee.Watch app from the play or apple store. Do not worry about log in credentials for the moment, these will be supplied on the day.
The schedule for the day is:
|10:30 – 12:30||Helping out in the apiary. There will be a number of jobs to do including:
tidying the bee garden
|12:30 – 13:30||Lunch (bring your own sandwiches*)
