The second of Witney Bees’ winter talks for 2019 is by Marin Anastavov – ‘Wax production in Bees and replacing Old Comb.’
Marin holds a B.Sc. degree in Animal Science and M.Sc. in Organic Farming from Aberdeen University. He is passionate about sustainable food production and his entire working career has been in organic food and farming. He has kept bees for over 20 years and currently manages 25 colonies in Gloucestershire.
His beekeeping interests are in honey bee-plant interaction, honey bee breeding and honey bee biology. Marin is a Master Beekeeper, Trustee of Gloucestershire Beekeepers Association, serves on the BBKA Education and Husbandry Committee and the examinations Board and coordinates the BBKA General Husbandry and Advanced Husbandry assessment training. As member of the BBKA Examination Board, Marin is part of the team responsible for the development and implementation of the Certificate in Honey Bee breeding.
Venue: Wesley Room, The Methodist Church, High Street, Witney.
Time: Talk Starts at 7.30pm. Followed by tea and biscuits

Cost: Only £4 on the door (under 14’s free, if accompanied by an adult 😊)
Parking in High Street near the front of the building but parking is best at the rear which is in Waitrose car park. Follow the P parking signs to the car park and park nearest the Bistro/Cafe “Hacketts“ which is at the other end to Waitrose actual building . If you walk along the footpath past Hacketts you will gain access to the rear of The Methodist Church close by.
