Missed this year’s Beginners course ? Interested in learning about bees and beekeeping ? Thinking about joining our beginners course next year ? Or just interested to know what happens in a bee hive. To answer any of these questions, we hold an annual taster day on Saturday 18th August at our teaching apiary at the Marlborough School in Woodstock.
You have the choice of a morning or afternoon session lasting approximately an hour and a half. Fully protected by a beesuit, you will be shown bees at work in a hive, and have the opportunity to take out a frame of bees for a close inspection. Afterwards, over refreshments, you will be able to ask our apiary managers any questions or concerns you have about keeping bees or simply what you can do to help bees generally. There is a fee of £10 to cover our set up costs – payable on the day.
If you would like to attend either the morning or afternoon session please complete the attached form. Children are welcome as long as accompanied by a parent, but must be at least 13 to fit our smallest bee suit size!
To register to attend a Taster Session please complete the form below. We will use the information you provide on the form only to contact you about the Taster Day 2018.
