Proposed OBKA Apiary Cleanup day
5th June 2021 @ 14:00 - 16:00
We would like to run an apiary day on Saturday 5th June starting at 2 pm for around two hours.
For those of you new to OBKA, we usually run two apiary days each year, one in spring and one in autumn. We were unable to run these events last year. We usually do one hour of work (cleaning beekeeping equipment, minor repairs and maintenance gardening: hedges, paths etc) and Mark Lynch, Seasonal Bee Inspector, is booked to do a demonstration so there will be a good learning opportunity. Finally, we have some light refreshments or even BBQ, subject to having access to the school community room for kitchen facilities and toilets. (We may ask for a small contribution for food to cover costs.)
Of course, everything is subject to Covid regulations and the weather.
At this stage we would like to canvass interest because we have to restrict numbers attending to 30 to comply with Covid Regulations.
If you would like to attend, please complete our questionnaire (using Google Forms, the link to the form is on the home page of the Members area), leaving your name and stating whether you can help with catering or bring heavy duty gardening tools such as hedge cutters.
If we are over-scribed, we will set up a booking system in Eventbrite and try to arrange a second session at the start of the school holiday period.
Please reply by end of Friday 21 May.
